Professional Experience

In my 20 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of institutions, including leading private schools such as Guildford High School and Tormead School. My experience spans across different age groups, but I have specialised in working with adolescents and younger children for the past 15 years. I’ve seen the unique challenges that young people face today, from academic pressures and social media influences to struggles with mental health. Through my work, I have developed a deep understanding of the emotional, psychological, and developmental challenges that many young people encounter.

I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and open environment where clients can feel heard and understood. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, trauma, depression, or self-esteem issues, I approach therapy with empathy and a solution-focused mindset. I believe in empowering my clients by giving them the tools and strategies they need to navigate their challenges with confidence and resilience.

My Personal Journey

Get to Know Me

A little bit about me

Hello, I’m Katie, a psychotherapist and counsellor with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. My journey into psychotherapy began out of a deep curiosity about human behaviour and a passion for helping others. From an early age, I was always the person people turned to for advice, and I quickly realized how powerful a compassionate, non-judgmental space could be for someone struggling with their thoughts and emotions.

I trained as a psychotherapist because I wanted to help people unlock their potential and find peace within themselves. After witnessing firsthand how difficult life challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma, can impact both children and adults, I felt a deep calling to make a difference. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals from all walks of life, but my true passion lies in supporting children, teenagers, and young adults.

  How Can I Help?

I believe that therapy should be a collaborative process where both the therapist and client work together to achieve meaningful, lasting change. My approach is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and experiences, ensuring that therapy is always relevant, effective, and supportive. I use a range of therapeutic methods to help clients build coping strategies, develop healthier thought patterns, and regain a sense of control over their lives.

Whether you're an adolescent struggling with peer pressure, a parent seeking guidance for your child, or an adult dealing with long-standing emotional issues, I am here to help. My goal is to support you in gaining insight into your challenges, providing tools for managing stress, and helping you develop healthier relationships with yourself and others.

If you are ready to begin your journey toward healing and self-discovery, I’d be honoured to support you along the way. Let’s work together to create a path forward that feels right for you.
